SWEET DADDY BY TOM WATSON

Montauk, New York.   On a cold November day in 1977, an amateur boxing event for local "tough guys" to lace-up, get in the ring and show what they were really made of was held in the east of Long Island.  A ring was erected in the parking lot of a local tavern.  The bar owner's brother, budding fashion photographer Tom Watson, captured the event on three rolls of 35mm film.  Why hasn't there been another fight out east?  "To say the least it was volatile," answers the bar owner.  So, what happened that night after Tom ran out of film?  That, they say, is the stuff of legend.  (www.tomwatsonphoto.com)
